Bushings that keep their size and strength at high temperatures.
- Wear rings photo
Wear rings
Wear rings that protect pump and compressor bores.
- Bearing blocks photo
Bearing blocks
Bearing blocks that run without grease in harsh conditions.
- Pistons photo
Pistons
Pistons that stay stiff and true under load.
- Plungers photo
Plungers
Plungers for pumps handling hot water, steam or chemicals.
- Cylinder sleeves photo
Cylinder sleeves
Sleeves that hold a stable bore through temperature changes.
- Insulators photo
Insulators
Electrical insulators that keep their strength near hot equipment.
- Standoffs photo
Standoffs
Stiff, nonconductive standoffs that hold clamp load.
- Washers photo
Washers
Insulating washers that resist creep under bolt load.
- Manifolds photo
Manifolds

Where PEEK works, and where another plastic may suit
General guidance on how PEEK behaves. If your drawing specifies a PEEK grade, we machine to it.
Where it works
- Heat
- Keeps its strength at temperatures that soften most plastics.
- Chemicals
- Resists most chemicals, fuels and oils.
- Steam
- Withstands steam, hot water and repeated sterilization.
- Strength
- Stiff and strong enough to replace metal in many parts.
- Wear
- Wears well, especially in bearing grades.
- Fire
- Resists burning, with low smoke.
Where another plastic may suit
| If the part needs | Often used instead |
|---|---|
| Concentrated sulfuric or nitric acid Strong concentrated acids can attack PEEK. PTFE resists them. | |
| Long outdoor exposure Sunlight degrades unprotected PEEK over time. PVDF is unaffected by weather. | |
| Lowest friction or non-stick Bearing grades of PEEK run well, but PTFE has lower friction and doesn’t stick. | |
| High heat at lower cost Where PEEK’s full heat and chemical resistance isn’t needed, these cost less. | |
| Parts that don’t run hot At normal temperatures, these machine well for much less. |
Grades
PEEK grades
PEEK comes unfilled and in glass-filled, carbon-filled and bearing grades. Name the grade on your drawing, or tell us how the part runs and we’ll suggest one.
| Grade | Typically used for |
|---|---|
| Unfilled | Most PEEK parts, and parts that need the most toughness. |
| Glass-filled | Stiffer, more stable structural parts. |
| Carbon-filled | The strongest and stiffest grade, for high-load parts. |
| Bearing grade | Bushings, wear rings and other sliding parts. |
| Food-contact | Food processing parts. Compliance comes with the grade’s supplier documentation. |
| Metal-detectable | Food and pharmaceutical lines where stray fragments must be found. Detectable plastics |

All plastics we machineYes. Ketron® PEEK and TECAPEEK® are brand names for PEEK stock. If your drawing specifies one, we machine the part in PEEK to that grade. CDS isn’t affiliated with the trademark owners.
Both are high-performance plastics for heat and strength. PEEK handles higher heat, more chemicals and more wear. Ultem costs less and is a strong electrical insulator. We machine whichever your drawing names, or suggest one with your quote.
Yes. We machine unfilled, glass-filled, carbon-filled and bearing grades of PEEK to your drawing.
