Machined plastic sleeves that reline a worn cylinder or bore, so the moving part runs on a replaceable liner and you keep the assembly you have.

How relining works

Reline instead of replace

When a bore wears, the whole cylinder or assembly doesn’t have to go. A plastic liner takes the wear instead, and can be replaced again later. Replacing metal with plastic

What stays

  • The cylinder or housing
  • The rest of the assembly
  • The moving part, if it’s sound

What’s replaced

  • The plastic liner
  • And again later, when it wears
  1. We size the sleeve

From your drawing, or from the bore and the part that runs in it.

  2. We machine the sleeve

Turned to your sizes in a plastic suited to the duty.

  3. It takes the wear

The moving part runs on the sleeve, which can be replaced again later.

Sleeve, bushing or wear ring?

A sleeve and a bushing can be the same shape; the difference is the job. Not sure? Send it and we’ll identify it with you.

We machine plastic sleeves and liners for equipment bores, not engine cylinder liners.

What defines the sleeve

Five questions that define your sleeve

A worn sleeve may have changed size, roundness or wall. We measure it, account for the wear and confirm the sizes with you.

  1. What goes inside it, and what moves?

Why it matters The moving part sets the bore and the wear the sleeve sees.

  2. Does it sit still in the bore, or move with a shaft?

Why it matters It decides which surface holds the sleeve and which one slides.

  3. Is this a repair, or a new build?

Why it matters A repair has to match a worn bore; a new build can follow the drawing.

  4. Which surface holds it, and which slides?

Why it matters One side needs grip, the other needs clearance.

  5. Are your sizes for the loose part or the installed part?

Why it matters Pressing a sleeve in can make its bore smaller.
