PPS parts we machine
The parts we see most often in PPS, and why it suits each job. We machine any PPS part to your drawing or sample, listed here or not.
- Wear rings photo
Wear rings
Pump wear rings that hold close clearances in hot water and chemicals.
- Bushings photo
Bushings
Bearing-grade bushings that run against shafts in pumps and mixers.
- Manifolds photo
Manifolds
Manifolds and blocks for chemical lines.
- Insulators photo
Insulators
Insulators that stay stable near heat.
- Standoffs photo
Standoffs
Standoffs that keep their length under clamp load.

Is PPS right for the part?
Where PPS works, and where another plastic may suit
General guidance on how PPS behaves. If your drawing specifies a PPS grade, Ryton® or Techtron®, we machine to it.
Where it works
- Chemicals
- Resists almost all solvents, acids and alkalis.
- Size
- Takes on almost no water, so it holds close size.
- Heat
- Stays stiff at high temperatures, including in hot water.
- Flame
- Resists burning without added flame retardants.
Where another plastic may suit
| If the part needs | Often used instead |
|---|---|
| Impact PPS is brittle and can crack under knocks. These are tougher. | |
| Strong oxidizing acids Strong oxidizing acids attack PPS. These resist them. | |
| Lower cost Where the part doesn’t run hot or meet harsh chemicals, these machine well for less. |
Grades
PPS grades
PPS comes unfilled, glass-filled and in bearing grades. Name the grade on your drawing, or tell us how the part is used and we’ll suggest one.
| Grade | Typically used for |
|---|---|
| Unfilled | Insulators and general-purpose parts. |
| Glass-filled | Stiffer, more stable structural parts. |
| Bearing grade | Wear rings, bushings and other sliding parts. |
| PEEK | When the part needs more toughness or higher heat. PEEK |

All plastics we machinePEEK is tougher and handles higher heat. PPS resists most of the same chemicals and costs less. If your drawing specifies one, we machine to it.
Both are brand names for PPS. If your drawing specifies a brand grade, we machine to it. CDS isn’t affiliated with the trademark owners.
Yes. We supply PPS sheet and rod, cut to size when you need it, through our material supply service.
