As an example of our expertise in producing replacement parts for maintenance, repair, and operations applications within the food and beverage industry, CDS Plastics, Inc. produces the acetal auger funnels used within Colby Filling Machines that are used for the processing of dry ingredients.

Machined from FDA-approved Delrin®, the auger funnels are produced in three sizes, each having an overall length of 8.615" and an outer diameter of 3.663". The inner diameter varies according to the fill size - 16 oz, 20 oz, or 24 oz. Using our Fadal and Takasawa equipment, our expert staff devised a method for machining the three similar components that would simplify switching between the variations in the inner diameter, helping keep productivity high and costs low. All parts are precision machined to within very tight ±.002" tolerances and veneer and micrometer measured and tested before shipping.
